Heritage Day 2020

Mia Mélange is made up of a team of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and languages. 

Ahead of Heritage Day in South Africa on the 24th of September, Mia Mélange and our neighbours, Nifty250, had a discussion about what heritage means to each of us. 

For Sympathy, our Watershed sales superwoman, speaking Shona is an important part of her heritage. For Mia Mélange's first team member, Bernay, heritage means to reunite with family. 

Verona enjoys celebrating her heritage with a braai and beer!!! For Tanika, camping is a pastime she enjoys and it has become an important part of her heritage.

For Sandra, heritage means family and love. Babsy likes to celebrate her heritage by drinking umqombothi!

When Scholar drinks Stoney Ginger Beer, it reminds her of home and her heritage. Heritage means unity to Lericia. 

For Leonard, storytelling is an important part of his heritage. The diversity of South Africa is what heritage means to Jeanneke. 

Heritage means singing and dancing to traditional music to Bella from Nifty250; for Maretha, it means koffie en koeksisters; and for Simon, heritage means sunshine, slops, braai, chops and rugby!
