Meet the Winning Design of our City Shopper Competition
This past Women’s Month, we celebrated women and their creativity with our Design a City Shopper Competition.
We invited you to put your own spin on our City Shopper by creating a colour combination and design you would love to see brought to life. The winning design would become part of the Mia Mélange collection, with the designer receiving the very first bag made in her design.
And you certainly delivered. We received so many beautiful and imaginative entries, making it no easy task to narrow them down to just five finalists.
Each finalist brought their own personality and sense of style to the City Shopper. From playful colour combinations to bold, eye-catching designs, we loved seeing how differently each person reimagined the same bag.
Once our Top Five had been selected, we handed the final decision over to our Instagram community. You voted for the design you most wanted to see become part of the Mia Mélange collection.

Gina’s vibrant ivory, ocean blue and neon orange City Shopper received the most votes from our community, making her the winner of our City Shopper Design Competition.
She drew inspiration from a personal travel memory, using it as the starting point for her City Shopper design.
As an artist, Gina works closely with colour, rhythm and unexpected combinations. For her City Shopper, she kept the composition intentionally clean and horizontal, allowing the ivory, ivory, ocean blue and neon orange sections to create a design that feels both energetic and beautifully balanced.
Now, Gina’s winning design has been brought to life as an official Mia Mélange City Shopper. As the competition winner, Gina will also receive the very first bag made in her design; bringing her Cape Town story full circle.
